Welcome!

Xisti.com is a site dedicated to communicating with men and women who are interested in creating community on the internet and learning from each other.

The name for this site is derived from a Greek word "xystus" which is the architectural term for the covered portico of the gymnasium. The Romans applied the term to the garden walk in front of the porticoes, which, was divided into flower beds with borders of box, and to a promenade between rows of large trees. It was also applied to the flat roof of colonnaded structures. Similar buildings, also called Xysti, were found in a number of Greek cities.

Xisti.com features articles which we hope you will find interesting. Some are editorial in nature. Others will include book reviews, research and information on a variety of subjects.
